How we got here

Located in the heart of the Old Quarter with 2 minutes to get to the Hoan Kiem lake and water puppet theatre, ngoc Sơn Temple, combines the best of traditional Vietnamese cuisine and Western inspired dishes. Our menu offers a creative range of meals, including a separate vegetarian/vegan menu, all at very affordable prices. Our skilled kitchen team source only the freshest organic ingredients to guarantee the high quality of our dishes. The freshness continues to our drinks. Our bar staff produce delicious real fruit juices and smoothies as well as cocktails, cold beers and a selection of wine. The rural-style restaurant offers more than just great food, also providing a cosy dining experience where customers can relax under coloured lanterns and enjoy the smell of fresh flowers on the tables. You will be greeted by genuine smiles from our helpful staff who ensure everyone leaves happy! We also hold cooking classes for those who wish to cook Vietnamese foods.

Bought each morning

Herbs, greens and fish come from the market before eight. What does not arrive is not on the menu that day — which is why you will sometimes see a dish marked sold out.

Charcoal, not gas

Everything grilled goes over charcoal in the courtyard. It is slower and hotter and it is the reason the pork tastes the way it does.

Allergies, chilli, no pork, no fish sauce — tell us and we will tell you honestly what we can change and what we cannot.
